Privacy Policy for Flight Lens

Dragos Roua ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Flight Lens mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

Information We Collect

Information We Do NOT Collect

  • Personal identification information (name, email, phone)
  • Photos or camera access
  • Contacts or calendar data
  • Precise location data

Information Stored Locally

  • App preferences and settings
  • Saved routes and alert configurations
  • Premium/subscription status
  • Credit balance and usage history
  • Recent search history

Local data is stored on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.

Data Processed on Our Servers

To provide flight intelligence features, certain requests are processed through our backend:

  • Flight searches — Search queries are processed in real-time and not retained.
  • Anomaly data — The Pulse Index and regional data are computed server-side from aggregated aviation data. No personal data is involved.

We use Cloudflare Workers for processing. Your IP address may be visible to Cloudflare in transit but is not logged by us.

Country-Level Location

The App may use your country (derived from your IP address by Cloudflare) to provide relevant regional anomaly data. This is approximate, country-level information only — we never access or request precise location.

Purchases

Subscriptions and credit packs are processed entirely by Apple. We receive:

  • Confirmation that a subscription or purchase is active
  • Purchase type (Light, Pro, credit pack)

We do not receive your name, Apple ID, payment method, or any personal details.

Advertising

The free version uses Google AdMob for rewarded ads. AdMob may collect:

  • Device advertising identifier (IDFA) — only if you grant tracking permission
  • General location (country/region level, derived from IP)
  • Device information (model, OS version)
  • Ad interaction data

Subscribers (Light and Pro) see no ads, and no advertising data is collected for them.

Push Notifications

If you enable alerts with push notifications:

  • Your device token is stored on our server to deliver notifications
  • Alert configurations (routes, thresholds) are stored to determine when to send notifications
  • We do not associate device tokens with personal identity

Third-Party Services

  • Apple App Store — Processes purchases
  • Google AdMob — Displays rewarded ads (free users only)
  • Cloudflare Workers — Processes flight data and anomaly detection
  • AirLabs API — Provides flight data (no personal data shared)

Data Security

All server communication uses HTTPS encryption. Local data is protected by iOS security features. We do not operate databases that store personal user data.

Data Deletion

To remove all app data:

  • Uninstall the app to remove all local data
  • Push notification tokens are automatically invalidated when you uninstall

Children's Privacy

Flight Lens is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
