Why I Built This
As a digital nomad, I split my time between Europe and Asia. Lately, I've spent a significant amount of time in Vietnam, with frequent visits to the Mekong Delta in the South. Everything is amazing there, except one thing: mosquitoes.
If you've ever been bitten by a Mekong Delta mosquito, you know you won't get tiny, slightly red and mildly itching spots. You get bruises. Seriously, I sometimes woke up in the middle of the night because of the bite pain.
After a couple of seasons trying to avoid mosquitoes as much as possible, I decided to experiment with an app. I knew sound frequencies weren't fully tested, and the research is mixed. Some say certain frequencies work, some say none work as a mosquito deterrent.
I made an MVP in an afternoon, then started to experiment and pivot. It took a few iterations to end up with something actually effective. The app now uses 3 frequency layers and anti-habituation patterns that, in most of my experience, alter mosquito behavior. They don't run away, but they become significantly less aggressive and active.

Anti-Habituation Technology
Static frequencies lose effectiveness over time as mosquitoes get used to them. MosquiGo continuously shifts parameters — frequency, pulse patterns, and timing — to prevent mosquitoes from adapting. The sound stays unpredictable, making it harder for insects to tune it out. This dynamic approach sets MosquiGo apart from simple tone generators.
Multi-Layer Sound Defense
Three frequency layers work together for comprehensive coverage. High-frequency pulses mimic the wingbeat of dragonflies and other natural predators. Sweeping tones cover the full mosquito hearing range. Optional low-frequency modulation adds another dimension. Each layer can be adjusted independently, letting you find the combination that works best for your environment.
Easy Presets
Choose from ready-made presets optimized for different scenarios: indoor relaxation, outdoor activities, morning hours, or dusk when mosquitoes are most active. Set it and forget it for a seamless experience. Power users can dive into advanced settings to customize frequency ranges, pulse intervals, and layer volumes. A built-in timer lets you schedule automatic shutoff.
Honest Note: Scientific evidence on ultrasonic mosquito repellents is mixed. Some users report noticeable results, others see no difference. MosquiGo is designed as a supplementary deterrent and should not replace proven methods like DEET-based repellent sprays, mosquito nets, or eliminating standing water around your home.
