Privacy Policy for Pane Shatter

Dragos Roua (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the Pane Shatter iOS application (the “App”). This policy explains what information is used when you use the App.

The short version

  • We do not run a Pane Shatter backend that receives your photos, audio, or motion data.
  • Gameplay, microphone input for Blow mode, motion for Shake mode, and saved stills are processed on your device.
  • Purchases go through Apple, not us.
  • We do not sell your information and we do not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs in the App.

Information involved in using the App

Saved stills and the Photos library

When a throw settles, the App may capture a still of the cracked glass and keep it in an on-device gallery. If you allow photo-library access, the App can also save that still to your Photos library. We do not upload those images to our servers. You can delete stills from the in-app gallery; Photos copies are managed in Apple Photos.

Microphone (Blow mode)

If you choose Blow, the App uses the microphone to estimate how hard and from which side you are blowing so it can push the ball. Audio is processed in real time on your device. We do not record, store, or send microphone audio to our servers. You can refuse microphone permission; Rubber and Shake still work.

Motion (Shake mode)

If you choose Shake, the App reads device motion on your device to move and launch the ball. Motion data is not sent to us.

Preferences and daily quota

Launch mode, appearance, split-ball settings, and similar preferences are stored locally (for example in UserDefaults). The free daily launch count is stored in the device Keychain so it can persist if you delete and reinstall the App on the same device. That quota is not an account and is not synced to our servers.

Purchases

Unlimited access is sold as an auto-renewable Apple In-App Purchase (currently weekly and six-month options). Payment, billing, family sharing, and refunds are handled by Apple under Apple’s terms and privacy policy. We receive entitlement information (whether Unlimited is active), not your full payment card details or Apple ID password.

Diagnostics

We do not operate a separate analytics product for Pane Shatter. If Apple provides crash or performance data for apps you install, that is governed by Apple’s policies and your device settings.

What we do not do

  • We do not require a Pane Shatter account.
  • We do not sell your personal information.
  • We do not use the App to show third-party advertising networks.
  • We do not use the microphone or motion sensors except to run the optional Blow and Shake launch modes you select.

Data retention

Stills, preferences, and Keychain quota stay on your device until you delete them or uninstall the App (Keychain items may remain on that device after uninstall, which is how the daily free limit works). Photos you saved to the system Photos library remain until you delete them there.

Children’s privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. Do not use it to collect information from children.

Changes

We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
