Privacy Policy for Shape Walk

Information We Collect

Health Data (HealthKit)

With your permission, the App reads from Apple Health:

• Step count
• Walking distance
• Active energy burned (calories)
• Body mass (if set, used for calorie estimation)

This data is read from Apple Health and displayed in the App. It is never sent to our servers. Pro users who enable iCloud sync have this data stored in their own private iCloud account (see CloudKit below).

Location Data

The App uses GPS during active walks to trace your route and match it against the chosen shape. Location is:

• Used only while a walk is in progress
• Stored as a list of coordinates in your walk trace
• Never transmitted to our servers
• Stored locally or in your private iCloud (Pro only)

Background location is requested to continue tracking when your screen is off during a walk.

Walk Traces

Completed walk traces (shape, date, distance, steps, calories, GPS path) are stored:

• Locally on your device
• In your private iCloud database (Pro subscribers only, using CloudKit Private DB — only you can access this)

Advertising (Free Tier Only)

Free users see banner and rewarded ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect:

• A device advertising identifier (IDFA) if you grant permission via the App Tracking Transparency prompt
• Approximate location (country/region)

If you decline the ATT prompt, only contextual (non-personalized) ads are shown. See Google's Privacy Policy.

Purchases

When you subscribe to Shape Walk Pro, Apple processes the transaction. We receive a transaction receipt to verify the subscription — it does not include your name, Apple ID, or payment details.

What Stays on Your Device

The following never leaves your device (unless you are a Pro subscriber using iCloud sync):

• Walk traces and GPS paths
• App preferences (distance unit, weight, notification time)
• Calorie and step history

How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

• Display your daily step count, distance, and calories
• Track your walk route and match it to the chosen shape
• Store your completed walk collection
• Sync your collection across devices (Pro only, via your private iCloud)
• Show relevant ads to free users

We do not:

• Sell your data
• Access your iCloud data — CloudKit Private DB is accessible only to you
• Collect your name, email, or contact information
• Track you across apps or websites (unless you grant ATT permission for ads)

Third-Party Services

• Apple HealthKit: Data is read locally and never sent to us.
• Apple CloudKit: Pro subscribers' traces are stored in their own private iCloud container. We cannot access this data.
• Google AdMob: Serves ads to free users. Subject to your ATT choice.
• Apple: Processes all purchases. We do not receive payment details.

Data Retention

• Local data persists until you uninstall the App
• iCloud data (Pro) persists in your iCloud account until you delete it or your subscription lapses
• No server-side data is retained by us

Your Rights

You can:

• Delete individual traces inside the App (Collection tab → long press or open trace → trash icon)
• Delete all local data by uninstalling the App
• Delete iCloud data via Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → Manage Storage → Shape Walk
• Revoke HealthKit access via Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices
• Revoke location access via Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Shape Walk

If you are in the EEA, you have additional rights under GDPR including access, rectification, and portability.

Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
